Commoners hand out the awards

The event recognised the efforts of the players from all three of the club’s adult teams during the 2014/15 season.

Common’s first team finished seventh in Macron Store Sussex County Football League Division Two, while the seconds came ninth in Reserve Section (East) and won the Reserve Section Challenge Cup.

The thirds continued their progress by finishing third in Macron East SussexFootball League Division Four.

As reported in last week’s Observer Sport, Common are hoping their front side will be accepted into the FA Vase - a prestigious national knockout competition - for the first time next season after being awarded the H grading from the FA’s ground grading committee.

* LITTLE Common Football Club will host its annual youth six-a-side tournament this coming weekend.

Teams from across Sussex will be competing at Little Common Recreation Ground in an event which caters for teams from under-9s to under-14s.

First up on Saturday will be the under-9s, under-11s and under-13s before the under-10s, under-12s and under-14s will get their turn on Sunday. The action will kick-off at 9.30am on both days.
