The crosstown rivals will lock horns at Little Common Recreation Ground in round two of the Macron Store Southern Combination Football League’s Peter Bentley Challenge Cup. Kick-off is 7.15pm.

Common player-manager Russell Eldridge said: “Everyone will be looking forward to that game. Local pride’s up for grabs in that and obviously a spot in the next round of the cup.”

Common beat Bexhill on home soil in two cup competitions last term, while the league meetings between the clubs produced one win apiece.

Bexhill manager Marc Munday said: “Once again it’s one everyone will want to be involved in. Little Common are an established team and you know they’re always going to be dangerous.

“If they play well and we’re not on our game they will beat us, and vice-versa. You can see in the positions we’re probably quite similar. They’re a good side and it will be a hard game.”

Both clubs have picked up nine points from a possible 12 in the league so far, but were beaten in FA Vase first round qualifying last weekend.

Common are set to welcome back Jamie Crone following suspension, but Bexhill are likely to be missing several players. Corey Wheeler is on crutches having torn ligaments, Adam Garman pulled his hamstring at the weekend, Jack Woodward is struggling with injury and George Aston is on holiday. Dan Cruikshank still has one match to run on his suspension, but Yankuba Camara has now completed his ban.
