Busy night of football in store

A hectic night of football lies in prospect with Bexhill United, Rye United and Sidley United all in action.

Sidley entertain Peacehaven & Telscombe in Sussex County League Division One, while Bexhill are at home to Ringmer and Rye are away to Seaford in round two of the John O’Hara League Challenge Cup.

Carl and Steve Morris will return as sixth-placed Sidley attempt to put successive defeats behind them against third-placed Peacehaven. Kick-off at Gullivers is 7.45pm.

Division One leaders Rye are likely to ring the changes against Division Two side Seaford. Sean Kelly and Shaun Loft are likely to be given a rest after picking up knocks in the 3-2 victory over Lancing on Saturday.

Ben Radley is expected to return after missing the last two matches through injury, and the likes of Marc Gall, Phil Rhodes, Kevin Rose and Jimmy Watson may well feature in a game which will kick-off at 7.30pm.

Bexhill, of Division Two, are pretty much down to the bare bones as they prepare to face Division One outfit Ringmer. Nathan Harding and Warren Parsons are suspended, and Josh Elliott-Noye and Dan Hill are on holiday.

Danny Ellis is out, Ross Markham has a hairline fracture of his tibia and Richard Saunders will undergo a fitness test. Martyn Durrant and Brad Freeman will be added to the squad. Kick-off at The Polegrove is 7.45pm.

The results and scorers will appear on this website tomorrow morning.
