Brighton want to bag Barca boy for big push

Gus Poyet wants to extend the loan deal for former Barca boy Gai Assulin as he prepares his charges for a play-off push.

The Albion sit fifth in the table after last night’s round of games and the prospect of promotion to the Premier League is

becoming more possible by the game.

Earlier this year Poyet snapped up Assulin and his fellow Manchester City starlet Abdul Razak. But while Razak was secured until the end of the season, Assulin’s south coast spell is set to end after this weekend’s trip to Blackpool.

However, Poyet plans to speak to Man City about extending that deal until the end of the season and is confident of sorting it out this week.
