With left-back Gaetan Bong and striker Sam Baldock out until the new year, the club have been on the look-out for replacements.

Hughton’s side have been linked with Manchester United forward James Wilson, while Dundalk’s Richie Towell has also been mentioned.

With just a couple of hours to go before the window closes, Hughton admitted a new addition may come in and said: “We are working as hard as we can and looking at all the options that we possibly might bring someone in.

“As it currently stands at this minute, if we can do something and it’s right then we will do but certainly with regards to the squad we have at this minute they have shown all season that they are competitive.

“So, if it ends up with the current squad we have now, I’ll be more than happy with that.
