Brighton transfers: Departures likely, Moises Caicedo agent and Arsenal latest, blockbuster Liverpool deal incoming? - deadline day at Albion

Brighton and Hove Albion still have time to tidy up some transfer business on deadline day.

It has been a hectic month for all at Brighton and Hove Albion and no doubt their technical director David Weir will breath a huge sigh of relief when the window closes today at 11pm.

So far it has not been a bad window for the Albion. Leandro Trossard departed for Arsenal for around £22m plus add-ons. Losing a player of his ability is clearly a blow but of all the talents to depart, Trossard was perhaps one of the better ones to absorb as the emergence of Japan international Kaoru Mitoma has certainly helped cushion the blow. Three players have arrived – Facundo Buonanotte, Yasin Ayari and Mark O'Mahony – and in-keeping with Brighton’s recent strategy, all three are gifted youngsters who the club will hope to develop and then see them thrive in the Premier league, while adding to their potential transfer value. The main talking point has however been Moises Caicedo. The Ecuador midfielder said he wanted to leave but Albion have rebuffed three offers – one from Chelsea and then two from Arsenal.

But there is still time to tweak the squad and here’s what could still happen in the next 12 hours or so...
