Bexhill squad in good shape for 2020-21 SCFL campaign

Bexhill United are well ahead with getting a strong squad together for the new football season.

The Pirates are aiming for a big campaign in division one of the Southern Combination League after finishing fifth in the truncated season just gone.

Manager Ryan Light has secured the services of a good proportion of those who served the club last season.

Announcements made in the past week or so include new deals for striker Drew Greenall, key first-team players Connor Robertson, Joel Kalambayi and Craig Ottley, club captain Craig McFarlane, first- team players Kyle Holden, Nathan Lopez and Corey Wheeler, wide man Jack McLean and 21-year-old goalkeeper Dan Rose.

Last weekend the squad were given fitness and running drills by former Great Britain Olympic athlete Sean Baldock.

The new campaign – whenever that begins – will be the popular Light’s fifth at the helm of the club and fourth in sole charge, having been joint manager

with Nigel Kane during his first season.

The players returned to training on July 1.
