The Sussex County Football League Division Two sides are seperated by two points in the competition, Oak lying in 9th place, one above United, and having played two games fewer.

Oak, however, lost their last home match on Saturday against Broadridge Heath, who knocked the Pirates out of the Sussex RUR Charity Cup in the second round last Tuesday.

Both sides will be looking to bounce back from defeats, though, United manager Kenny McCreadie may be without several key players, such as midfielder Ashley Jarvis, who missed his side’s contentious away loss against Haywards Heath Town last Saturday through injury.

The sides have already met once this season back on the opening day when Oak won 4-3 in a high-scoring league fixture at Mile Oak Recreation Ground. Kick-off tonight is 7.15pm.

Several of the area’s teams have already progressed following last night’s (Tuesday’s) matches, including Rye United, Little Common and Westfield - who won 6-5 on penalties away at Haywards Heath Town after extra time finished 5-5.
