The Pirates are on the hunt for a new boss after previous incumbent Kenny McCreadie was de-selected during a committee vote on Thursday night, last week.

Anybody interested in leading the Sussex County Football League Division Two club should call chairman Bill Harrison on (01424) 532667 or 07969 097621, or write to him at 8 Glyne Drive, Bexhill-on-Sea, TN40 2PW.

“There are one or two who’ve said they’ll look at the position, but you never know what’s out there,” said Harrison, who expects to start speaking with candidates early next week and added that an appointment could even be made by the end of the week.

Reserve team boss Phil Smith has also left the club, but Harrison says he has ‘someone in mind’ for that position at present.

Bexhill held their AGM on Tuesday night, meanwhile, and most of the officers remain in place.

Harrison stays on as chairman and Mark Killy as vice-chairman (as well as programme editor), while Tracy Aston continues as secretary. Robin Powell stood down as treasurer and was replaced by Steve Etherington. Graham Cox is the new matchday secretary.

A sub committee of Paul Wenham, Samantha Thompson, Ian Daniels, Chris Adams, Mark Feaks, Katie Wilde, Serena Mathews, Dean Taberer and Pauline Killy was formed.

The club’s Twitter account @Bexhill_Pirates has now achieved 900 followers and Bexhill are keen to grow that figure still further.
