The Pirates conceded three times in the first half and twice more in the second period of a one-sided Sussex Senior Cup first round tie against fellow Sussex County Football League Division Two opposition.

Kick-off was put back by 15 minutes due to Bexhill’s late arrival and the visitors were soon behind to a Mark O’Regan cross-cum-shot in the 12th minute. O’Regan then turned provider, playing a great ball for Andrew McDowell to make it 2-0 with a low drive 13 minutes later.

Chris Paine added Oak’s third from a penalty won by McDowell in the 40th minute and another Paine spot-kick made it 4-0 in the 70th minute. O’Regan completed the rout after being played in by Nick Kerly.

Bexhill, whose goalkeeper Joe Turner made two good saves in the opening 10 minutes, have now been knocked out of three cups already this season and have lost their last three games in all competitions, scoring just once.
