Harry Finch compiled a brilliant unbeaten century for the England under-19s cricket team yesterday (Monday).
The Hastings Priory talent scored 100 not out off 129 balls with 12 fours to propel his country to a five-wicket victory over Bangladesh at Leicester with three balls to spare.
Finch, who opened the batting, said: “It was brilliant, a fantastic feeling. It probably wouldn’t have meant as much if we hadn’t won, but I was chuffed that we got the win.”
The 18-year-old Sussex professional had earlier taken two catches in the field as Bangladesh were all out for 170. Finch scored just seven today, however, as England were soundly beaten by Pakistan, their third defeat out of four in the triangular series so far.
