Dorking date is Wick's Vase reward

WICK Football Club are the only local survivors in the FA Vase after Littlehampton and Arundel both crashed out on Saturday.

In the second round on November 18, Wick now travel to Combined Counties League side Dorking, who Arundel thrashed 5-0 in the FA Cup in August.

Mullets manager Vic Short said: "We beat Dorking 5-0 and it could have been more. I can't see them causing Wick too many problems unless they have changed their side from when we played them."

It was Eamonn Searle who again proved to be Wick's goalscoring hero. After his heroics with a double against Lancing in the preliminary round, he struck the winner midway through the second half against Oakwood on Saturday.

Tom Manton went on a surging run, riding two challenges by an Oakwood defender desperate to bring him down, and squared for Searle to slot home his seventh goal of the season.
