Details of the league structure and their opponents for the forthcoming season are yet to be officially announced, but the team expects to be entered into the national level, which could see them face opposition from Orpington, Canterbury, London, Bury and Brighton.

Conquerors chairman and founder Chris Chillingworth said: “This is fantastic for the club, which only formed 18 months ago and has grown from strength to strength since.

“It’s also fantastic news for the town of Hastings, which not only has never had a full contact American Football team before, but now has a team competing in the national leagues.

“We always remained hopeful of league entry after what we considered to be a successful associate season and we made extra effort to meet all the criteria asked of us.

“The fact that we run our team in such a professional and responsible way I think helped us pass BAFA’s checks. Now the real work begins as I expect things to get a bit more busier.

“However, we have some great people at this club and I know that we’ll overcome any obstacle put in front of us. The players are over the moon with the news, the majority of them having only started the sport for the first time within the last year.”

This is yet another goal realised for the club as it continues to grow in 2014.
