SPORTING legends and showbiz stars are set to join football pundit Jimmy Hill at a charity golf day in Ditchling, later this month.

The celebrity-am golf day, which takes place at the Mid-Sussex Golf Club on Monday June 24, will feature such sporting names as recently-retired Arsenal defender Lee Dixon, former Brighton and Hove Albion stars Gerry Armstrong and Steve Foster, and Surrey and England fast bowler Martin Bicknell.

Other names at the Jimmy Hill South Downs Classic - in aid of SOS (Stars Organisation Supporting Cerebral Palsy) - include Nigel Spackman, Ray Wood and Paul Rogers.

Among the celebrities at the fund-raising event will be: Eastenders actors Ian Lavender, John Bardon and Derek Martin, former Likely Lad James Bolam, television presenters Matt Lorenzo, Peter Duncan and Steve Scott and actors Gareth Hunt, Jan Harvey, Craig Douglas and Kenny Lynch.

It is hoped the event will help raise a target of 10,000 vor children with cerebral palsy at the Dame Vera Lynn School for Parents in Billingshurst.

Entry fee for spectators is 3. Tee offs are from 9am.
