This year’s race was contested by 45 riders plus a tandem.

Conditions were initially very promising with a sub-20 minute ride looking to be on the cards. However, a rising wind and falling traffic flow meant the promise went unfulfilled.

However, Sam Orbell of Farnham RC produced an excellent 20.15, only two seconds slower than the Tandem ridden by Peter and Tom Baker. Alex Napier of Blazing Saddles was fastest veteran and second overall while James Brickell of Fareham Wheelers came in as fastest junior. BRCC’s own Kelly Enticott was fastest lady on the night and Blazing Saddles took the team award.
