Bexhill need consistency against Lewes

BEXHILL entertain Lewes Priory on Saturday (June 15) with the heavy defeat at Littlehampton still ringing in their ears.

Sam Roberts' team missed the chance to go top of the Sussex Second Division in their last match after crashing all out for less than 100 for the second time this year.

It also seems that when their overseas skipper has an off-day, so does the rest of the team.

The Australian all-rounder is hoping his team can deal with their inconsistency issues, and said: "The competition is quite even in this league, and I don't think anyone really stands out. On our day we can compete with anyone.

"If we play like we did against Stirlands or East Grinstead we'll have no trouble on Saturday, but if we play like the Littlehampton or Roffey games we'll get slaughtered."

Martin Phillimore is set to return to the side.

Sidley's dreary start to the campaign continued with their fifth straight defeat at East Grinstead, and with leaders Cuckfield visiting Gullivers tomorrow they will have to pull out all the stops to take something from the game.
