THE David Camerons and Nick Cleggs of tomorrow recently enjoyed a residential weekend where they found out more about the world of politics.
Members of the Hastings Youth Council headed to Swattenden Outdoor Centre for the annual trip, which included a host of activities designed to encourage team building, trust and communication between the group.
The budding politicians also took part in workshops and presentations and discussed the future of the youth council here in 1066 Country.
Some adult councillors also attended the event, including Jeremy Birch, the leader of the local authority.
He paid tribute to the teenagers, saying: “The members of the youth council have got some fantastic ideas.
“It’s encouraging to see how passionate they are about representing their peers in the local community.
“We look forward to working with them and hope that they continue to work hard to provide a voice for the young people in the community.”
