THE Olympic opening ceremony and the support for Team GB will no doubt lead to an increasing number of Union flags on display.
As two grumpy old(er) people we get quite upset that so many of the Union flags are incorrectly flown.
The correct flying position is for the broad white band to be uppermost and to the flag pole.
When the flag is flown upside down, it is a maritime distress signal – not, we are sure, what is intended by the flyer.
