Works completed ahead of schedule

I WAS a bit disappointed to read M Graves’ letter (Hastings Observer, January 20) bemoaning the delays to ‘our’ Stade scheme.

I cannot comment on the new gallery, which is not a Hastings Borough Council project of course, but I am pleased to report that in fact our Stade works were completed well ahead of schedule.

Our scheme was part of the previous Government’s Sea Change programme, as is the Bexhill work, and we both received the go-ahead at the same time.

We had originally hoped that our work would be completed by the end of June 2011 but, in fact, Stade Hall opened in March last year, the cafe was handed over to our tenant in April 2011, and the Stade Open Space last May.

So we were actually ahead of schedule, and certainly well ahead of Rother’s work.
