What happens after collection?

Hastings Observer letters
Hastings Observer letters

From: Mary Scarborough and Lesley Beris, Upper Park Road, Hastings

After reading the two letters regarding the mixing up of shredding and recycling, I made a point of looking out of the window this morning and sure enough the dustmen picked up our carefully bagged shredding and put it in the bin meant for the ordinary recycling.

Also the black box for bottles was just thrown in the back of the lorry with everything else!

So Hastings council, what do you have to say after spending untold money on getting leaflets printed to every householder explaining what we should do (incidentally we have followed this to the letter) only to find out that it is all lumped in together!

We would like a response to this letter and also to the two other gentlemen that wrote to you with the same point. It would be very interesting to know what happens to this recycling after it is collected?
