Many political observers conclude that soaring energy prices are ‘theburning issue’ of the day.
But how does our constituent MP Amber Rudd judge this claim? This winter many hard-pressed Hastings and St Leonards residents will leave their central heating switched off.
However, it is difficult to believe that Amber Rudd will be sat huddled down in a chair in a woolly hat, scarf and dressing gown, fighting the shivers.
What is her reaction to these energy suppliers? Are they the acceptable face of capitalism or a heartless bunch of profit-mad individuals hell-bent on exploiting a basic human need to keep warm?
She will probably advocate switching supplies but isn’t this just adults encouraged to play the childish game of musical chairs?
