We should be shouting our Pirate Day record from the rafters

SUNDAY was absolutely fantastic as thousands of pirates flocked to the seafront to set a new world record, which they did.

But for the 14,000 plus people that were counted, there were an equal number just content to picnic or walk around in their costumes.

I opened my national daily paper on Monday expecting to see pictures and a report of the new world record but no. There were photos of Bournemouth and Brighton, but what happened in Hastings was unique for the country.

Come on Hastings Borough Council publicity department, get with it!
