An open letter to Amber Rudd.

This loss of our democratic right must not be accepted.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the decision to leave the EU it is now clear that the EU have taken the opportunity to tie UK hands in readiness for trade negotiations. Their tactics will include use of the legally enforceable condition which provides for the Irish Backstop. The recently signed documents give the EU powerful negotiating advantages and throw away those of the UK.

Suggestion that the EU will not use their advantages to the utmost degree treats the public with contempt.

The argument that the Irish Backstop may never come into force can be seen by the British public as political piffle of which the public have had too much.

It is not too late to insist on measures securing our sovereign right of final decision over this matter.
