Thanks to all those involved

I used the new bypass on Friday, December 18, around 4pm (saw a lot of countryside I have never seen before), quite busy as you would expect at that time of day but no holdups.

We were on our way to Ravenside, so got off the bypass at the first roundabout, went along Wrestwood Road, to De La Warr Road, again no holdups.

Left Ravenside around 6.30pm, no holdups, drove along Bexhill Road, no holdups.

If that is what we can expect from our new by-pass then thanks to all involved.

All the residents who live in De La Warr/Bexhill Road and surrounding area must count their blessings, less traffic, less pollution, less asthma, less stress. Better life.

I will be pleased to see the new road/roundabout at the top of Sedlescombe Road completed, this will reduce congestion at the top of Queensway along to the Harrow, again people in Maplehurst Road, and surrounding area must be wishing for a better standard of living once completed.

Conservationists complain about the effect the bypass will have on wildlife.

It is a fact that over 100,000 trees have been planted along its path, its also a fact that both badgers, and foxes, thrive within the inner urban areas of Hastings so I cannot see why they will not thrive along the bypass

I live just off the Ridge and I do have concerns about more congestion along its path.

I think its a great pity that we only have half a bypass instead of a complete one, Hastings is a very nice place to live, if and when we get a complete by-pass it will be the jewel of the south coast.
