What a blessing to read today’s Observer.
It’s lovely to see what Hope Kitchen does (page 22) and the wonderful work of our Street Pastors (page 58).
But I am particularly thankful for Vikki’s letter (page 30).
I was a former boy in the 7th Hastings Boys Brigade and I am very thankful for it’s existence.
It teaches us so much, and I remember the annual camps we had and the many activities we enjoyed.
Could I ever imagine, years later, I would be caring for others like people cared for me at these camps?
I take clothes and other gifts to families in Uganda, and ship a lot of books to Uganda for churches who have very little resources in their villages.
Thank you, all of you, who served so faithfully over the years to enable boys like myself to receive so much in my youth.
