Street pastors happy to meet business community

HASTINGS Street Pastors are indebted to Hastings Chamber of Commerce for their kind invitation to share our work at Thursday’s Business Breakfast.

The superb suite at the Bannatyne Hotel was full of local business people and organisations and the warm welcome was very much appreciated.

We spoke of how street pastors are a peacekeeping team of four backed up by a prayer team at base at Wellington Square Baptist Church in the town centre on Friday and Saturday nights since February last year.

We never preach or seek to convert anyone, but aim to always take time to non judgementally listen, care and help.

We were humbled when recently our MP Amber Rudd, Mayor Kim Forward and Deputy Mayor Alan Roberts joined us to witness first hand the favour we enjoy on the streets and how we work in partnership with, yet remain independent of, Sussex Police and Hastings Borough Council.

We were delighted to join Ms Rudd at the business breakfast and appreciated the hospitality offered by those in attendance which exceeded 100.

Our exhibition stand certainly attracted much attention as did the fact we are self-funded.

We are always available to freely give talks or presentations to any local interested groups.
