The local Imam whose response to the Paris atrocities (Letters, January 16) was measured, wise and commendable for its wise advice, deserves ‘special mention’.
We were shown the way to deal with our revulsion - not preached at, patronised or talked down to, but in a manner which can be understood and appreciated by all religions, and none.
Here is local leadership of the highest quality and we will do well to take note of the request that ‘We all reflect on the fact that the strongest relationships are built upon communities, trust and co-operation’.
Surely a very positive way forward in the face of understandable concern about future attacks by criminals falsely purporting to be associated with Islam.
