Railway station drop-off woes

On the occasions that I have dropped off or picked up a family member at Hastings Station, I have found that area more and more crowded with taxis.

This is at all times of the day. It is more frustrating when the designated ‘drop off’ area has taxis parked in it.

Today, Thursday, February 25, at 9.45am, I went to the station to drop off my wife.

It was crammed with taxis. It was difficult to drive in, let alone turn round.

Guess what? There was a taxi in the ‘drop off’ point.

Once my wife had got out and I had turned round I stopped, opened the window and said to the taxi driver, ‘Should you be parked there?’

He replied abruptly, ‘This is for everyone, twenty minutes stay’. I thought, what was the point of having the area with ‘taxi’ painted on the road?

Perhaps I should tell my wife and son to get a taxi to and from the station.

They would have more chance of getting near the station entrance.

It was easier parking before our new glittering glass station was built!
