Proud of the people of Hastings

I HAVE lived in Hastings for 64 years, never have I seen so many people at any function.

I am proud at the people of Hastings, what a wonderful turn out, though disabled was able to view the event from the balcony of the White Rock Hotel, all the afternoon very young and older people running up and down the front. The young will ensure the future of Hastings runners.

After the torch’s flame passed from one runner to the next one, we retired to the hotel for an excellent meal. Thank you all for a most wonderful day. Well worth the effort and the people who stayed away missed a great free show.

As for Laurence Page, his parents should be proud at the way they have encourage him in every thing he has done.
