Praise for local shopkeeper

My mobile rang while I was in London: “Michael, are you all right?” It was David who with his brother and other relatives runs the small but excellent convenience shop in The Bourne.

I had left him a message with someone else in the shop that I would be away for a couple of days, would they please keep my papers for me?

The message did not reach David so, when my papers were uncollected on the second day, he took the trouble to ring me. As I am 83, this was most thoughtful of him.

What supermarket would do this for a customer? Thank you, David.
