Plans to celebrate the arrival of Olympic Torch

CALLING all sports clubs and groups in Hastings - we need your help to celebrate the arrival of the 2012 Olympic Torch in Hastings.

We are holding a week of sport to mark the once-in-a-lifetime event of the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay arriving in 1066 Country.

The sports event will take place over the week commencing July 14, 2012 as part of the week of events ahead of the arrival of the Olympic Torch Relay in Hastings on July 17.

We are inviting every sports club and association in Hastings to stage their own event during the week of the July 14. In 1910, Hastings held its own Olympics. In 2012, the Olympics is coming to London and gives us the ideal opportunity to showcase the sporting activity across Hastings.

Each event will be organised by the individual clubs taking part, using the venues that would normally be available to them.

We only ask that you make it as accessible to spectators as possible to enable anyone that would like to watch your event has the ability to do so.

If you are interested in taking part, please respond to me by December 3 at the latest.

You will not be committed to the event by indicating your interest, but you will be invited to a meeting during mid-December where further details of the event will be given.

To register your interest, please write to Tracey Whittington, 75 Rye Road, Hastings, TN35 5DH and give the details of your club, or email
