Park’s putrid water flowing down to the sea

SO the water quality has dropped on Hastings beach according to the Environment Agency’s report in last week’s Observer.

Is it any wonder when water travelling through our local park is fed into the sea.

You cannot now walk through Alexandra Park without seeing at least one rat and more usually two or three in a short space of time and these swim, urinate and defecate at will, so it’s pretty obvious that by the time the water reaches the beach it must be pretty putrid.

Parents with children should make sure that they do not touch the water in the park and it now seems obvious that there is just as much risk associated with a swim in the sea.
