Ongoing suspension over text is criminal

I WAS dumbfounded to read in last week’s Observer that Chief Inspector Mark Ling is still suspended two months after allegedly sending an offensive text message. The London and Birmingham rioters have been dealt with more expeditiously, this highly respected officer deserves better than this, what can possibly take so long?

In the meantime the police budget is being stretched by paying another officer to fulfil his duties (I assume he is suspended on full pay).

From what I have read and heard, Mr Ling is highly respected by both his officers and superiors, he has drastically cut the crime rate in Hastings and I am sure I speak for many townspeople when I say we want and need him back on duty as soon as possible.
