OUR leader Jeremy Birch tried his hardest to put a good spin on what happened to our Information Centre at the town hall, but the fact remains that £200,000 was spent shifting the housing and benefits department from Aquila House into the town hall.
It was soon realised that this was not a good idea so more money was being spent (tax payers money that is) to open up a new Information Centre where the benefits office used to be (Aquila House). Question: Why not leave a system that was working OK alone?
So as for his constant going on about the cuts that are having to be made funds always seem to be available for this sort of money wasting exercise plus giving our higher paid council officers a £350,000 share out last year. What’s next?
