Litter puts a tarnish on town’s image

THE area outside the new Sainsbury’s store at Station Plaza is a disgrace.

The cashpoint area and steps up to the new health centre are covered with litter of all kinds including cans, bottles and cigarette packets.

There seems to be a crowd of youths permanently sitting next to the cashpoint drinking and smoking.

This does not show Hastings in a good light. Twice I have recently met visitors at the train station and on each occasion I have had to walk them past this rabble and the mess they leave behind. It is a shame that we finally have new college facilities, a health centre and businesses moving into this area – but it is let down by the people who live here. Whoever is responsible for this area – the college, Hastings Borough Council or Sainsbury’s, please sort it out.
