Kids beat rain at festival

YOUR reporting of the Walking the Fish Parade, the opening of the Seafood and Wine Festival, stating “It kicked off with a trail of colour and music along the seafront” was a travesty of the truth.

The weather was appalling, grey skies, wind and half way though, torrential rain.

The heads and tails of the fish blew off, some children were left with only sticks. There was nowhere to shelter and nobody to watch.

I think the children deserve to be congratulated on carrying on in face of such foul weather.

At least, when they arrived at the tent they were each given a medal and a drink before going home to change out of their sodden clothes.
