Not being present the first time the pier was constructed, my experience of it was as an up and running facility.
Its erasure was eerie, really very sad.
And now afresh it is in the process of being rebuilt.
To stroll past the rebuilding of a pier may come once in a lifetime, for several generations it is something they will not experience.
Of course, I look to its successful completion and what it will offer but the richness of this time in which it is being built is just as tangible as the finished pier will be.
It is really worthwhile to read the stages of construction that are communicated on notices along the front metal grating.
The pier in construction is thrilling.
