I migrated to Hastings a few years back and have been a drain on society ever since.
I moved here from London and retired.
As a singleton,I receive a 25 per cent discount on my council tax: as a pensioner I have free bus travel and am a burden to the local NHS facilities due to failing health.
Happily nobody objects to this.
I find myself really puzzled by the objections folks have to the refugees who are going to join us here.
The very fact that they have gone through living in terrible conditions, risking life and limb to get here demonstrates how ambitious and resourceful they are; they also bring skills to our locality; they have so much more to offer than I have.
These people are mainly young and will be paying taxes and allowing us all to learn about their cultural differences which enhances the lifestyle for us all.
I hope we can help them acclimatise to warm beer, standing in queues and whingeing about the weather.
