How will MPs vote on energy?

EARLY next month Parliament will be debating the Energy Bill.

Can we look forward to our two local members or the ‘greenest Government ever’ to be voting for a continuing commitment to renewable energy iniitiatives?

Only last week we heard how Britain came within hours of running out of gas and minutes of too little electricity. Irrespective of global warming issues, energy prices are going to rocket, placing our balance of payments in jeopardy, and increasing our reliance on unreliable foreign energy sources.

Britain is well-placed among Western states to tap into renewable supplies, and there could be no better time to invest in such an important element of our infrastructure. Local voters will be watching with interest if our representatives really have our long-term interests at heart.
