Great support for good cause

TO everyone who attended the afternoon tea with music and a fashion show on Tuesday, July 16, a very big thank you.

The event, which was a great success, raised a grand total of £415.72 for the local branch of the Huntington’s Association.

I must thank Margaret and Yvonne who seem to have an eye for a good fundraising event, this time from a chat in Bon Marche, which provided the fashion and advice, the format for the afternoon was developed.

Thanks to their hard work and that of many other friends from the aqua-fit class at Freedom Leisure, amazing food to eat, cakes to buy, plants and bric-a-brac appeared as if by magic on the afternoon.

The beautifully hand-knitted rabbits we had on the Huntington’s table, raised a further £16 to add to the total. The raffle table was amazing and as well as prizes donated by friends and acquaintances I must thank the following for their generosity, namely Asda, Freedom Leisure, Morrison’s, Rainbow’s Confectionery and Rother View Nursery.

The music and spotlights on the models, all of whom had fun and did an excellent job, were provided by Nathaniel Taylor.
