Disappointment over theft in church garden

CHURCH-in-the-Wood Hollington enjoyed greatly taking part in the Heritage Open Days, and we were fortunate to receive many many friendly, polite, interesting visitors who all commented on how beautiful and well kept the church and grounds are.

Then on the morning of Sunday (September 11), we discovered that someone had broken into the shed in our Garden of Remembrance overnight and stole all the machinery and tools (mowers, shredders, a blower etc).

This equipment is used solely for one purpose, the upkeep of our huge graveyard to the delight of families of the deceased buried there.

Maybe when and if family members of these thieves are interred in the grounds they will wonder why the grass is so long etc, although perhaps they won’t care.
