Blaze shows we must keep Ridge Fire Station

LIFE threatening fires are truly terrifyingly dangerous experiences.

Have those who are trying to save money by closing The Ridge Fire Station had direct experience of escaping a burning building?

Fifteen of us, six children and nine adults, survived a major fire in a house in Pett Level a few weeks ago.

Had it not been for the speed and professional capability of the locally based Ridge Fire Station crew it would have been a very different story.

Closing the station is a blinkered and false economy, putting the lives of villagers in Pett and Fairlight at risk and money into the pockets of insurance companies and loss adjusters etc.

Saving lives is more important than saving money.
