The other day at Seaside Road, St Leonards, I received a parking ticket.
Fair cop, I was parked in the lane reserved for coaches.
I spoke to the parking warden who is employed by East Sussex County Council and pointed out to him the reason for my parking was that I was unable to park in a parking bay due to there being 20-plus camper vans there.
Some of these are parked over two bays and some half on the pavement.
There is a sign that states ‘no overnight sleeping in vehicles’ but some of these camper vans have not only been there overnight but weeks and some for months.
I was told by the parking warden that this was a Hastings Borough Council problem.
I pointed out that I had reported this to HBC weeks ago and was informed that it was an ESCC problem.
After going home I thought if I sold my house and bought a camper van and parked down Seaside Road, I would not have to pay council tax or utility bills, have a nice sea view and best of all would not be moved on by HBC or ESCC.
Anyone want to buy a house?
