I WANTED to take the opportunity of thanking all the many people who helped, myself and the other committee members (Anita Gibbs, Joan Harding, Graham How, Dave Upwood and Doreen Upwood) with Beatles Day this year.
It really is a team effort but made so much easier for us with our ever growing army of volunteers (front and back of house) and in the shopping centre.
I would also like to thank the people who helped in the months leading up to the day. Too many to mention. You know who you are. I hope you know how much we appreciate your efforts.
We have fantastic sponsors and so many musicians who give their time for free.
Local keyboard player Jo Brooks called it “The Hastings musicians firms outing”.
I love that. For many it’s a great day to catch up with friends.
Like everybody else involved with Beatles Day I love this town. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
If there is another town that has the amount of music we do then tell me where it is and I’ll see if they have the festivals, events and art scene we have.
There is simply no other town like Hastings, and so generous in a time of recession.
Thanks again to all of you. Have a good year.
