Youngsters learn about fire safety

Arun's young junior wardens have been invited to join forces with Bognor Regis Fire Station.

A total of 11 children, aged between seven and 11, have been given a tour of the station so they can learn about the role of the fire service and gain valuable fire safety knowledge.

All of the youngsters are members of the Laburnum Grove Junior Wardens Scheme, set up last year by Arun District Council with funding from the Arun Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership.

It involves 12 young people from Laburnum Grove Junior School in Bognor Regis and aims to help local children work together and learn about safety, good citizenship and environmental projects.

The junior wardens have been promoting good citizenship in their school.

They have also been involved in taking part in clean up days with Arun's community wardens, litter picking areas near their school.

The trip was organised by Arun community warden Michael Harris.
