Yet another success for Rye Rotary Walk

Walkers had a choice of three routes of varying lengths, which took in the countryside around Rye.

Richard Popple of Rye Rotary, who has overseen all 14 walks, said: “It was a great day. The weather almost behaved itself. Extra teams joined individual walkers and everybody had fun.

“So far we have raised £1,000, however, it will be several weeks before we know the final tally raised, but hopefully we will be able to report an increase on our initial estimate.”

Those taking part were comprised from such diverse organisations as Winchester Corporation, Scout and Guide Groups, various schools and colleges, other Rotary Clubs and Friends of Rye Wurlitzer.

Richard commented: “We thank everybody who took part and it is impossible to acknowledge every organisation that contributed never alone the individuals who walked as well. We look forward to their sponsorship contributions and to seeing them all again next year”
