Woman taken to hospital after being punched

A WOMAN was punched in the face by another woman as she made her way home in St Leonards.

The victim was walking in Silchester Road between 9.30pm and 10pm on April 14 when the terrifying attack took place.

The 35-year-old was taken to the Conquest Hospital in St Leonards for treatment for severe bruising and swelling to her face.

The attacker was white, aged 40 to 45, about 5’ 8” and of medium build with shoulder length dark hair.

A 42-year-old woman from St Leonards was arrested on suspicion of assault.

She was questioned before being released on bail until May 1 while officers carry out further enquiries.

Sussex police spokesman James Glover said: “The victim has suffered very nasty injuries to her face and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw her being attacked.

“If you were in Silchester Road or the area nearby on Monday evening and saw or heard what happened, please contact us.”
