Woman sexually assaulted

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted on her way home.

The victim was walking to her car about 8.15pm on last Tuesday (March 24) when she was approached by a man near to the railway bridge in Braybrooke Road who asked her where she was going and tried to engage her in conversation.

Despite the 50-year-old woman making it clear that she wasn’t interested in talking to him, he insisted on walking with her and grabbed her bottom several times over her coat. After doing this he turned and walked away. The man was white, slim, 5ft 7ins and in his late teens or early 20s with a spotty complexion. He had short cropped dark hair, spoke with a lisp and wore dark coloured baggy trousers and anorak. Anyone with information should email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 276 of 25/03.
