Police have today (Tuesday) released mobile phone footage of a man they would like to speak to in relation to an assault on a woman at the junction of Trinity Street and Robertston Street.

The attack happened at around 1.30am on Sunday, May 17 as the victim was making a phone call.

The 47-year-old victim was punched a number of times in the chest before having her mobile thrown to the ground.

The suspect is described as white, aged between 35 and 40, 6ft tall and of large build.

He has short brown hair and was wearing a purple or maroon shirt.

PC Matt Pearmain said: “We would like to speak to the man pictured in relation to the assault. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 0135 of 17/5.”

Alternatively, witnesses can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
