HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for good causes as Winkle Island was transformed into Fantasy Island.

The event, which is a fixture within the Seafood and Wine Festival, saw a steady flow of visitors over the two days, raising more than £800.

There was a wealth of entertainment for visitors, such as puppeteers, musicians providing live music and plenty of stalls.

Richard Stevens, vice-chairman of Hastings Winkle Club, which put on the event, said: “This is the third year that we have organised the Fantasy Island event and again it was very successful. We had a boat and sand on the island, several stalls and the ever popular tombola. There was a steady of visitors over the two days.
